We have two daughters, one two year old and one two months, the One Love mei tai baby carrier has been a great resource. Our youngest daughter has colic and hence cries for hours at a time. We notice that a walk in the One Love mei tai helps enormously. The crying has definitely reduced. Because our younger daughter is taking up a lot of parent time we worry that our two year old is not getting enough attention or expected to “grow up” faster. We have noticed that carrying her in the One Love mei tai allows us to give her the closeness she is used to. She loves that one-on-one parent time. The One Love mei tai allows a snug fit for different ages and weights. We truly feel it has helped our two child parenting.
At first I was oblivious to the idea of babywearing, I thought it was something only Japanese women were doing and that it was a secret society or something. But when I started learning more about it, I absolutely fell in love with it. My daughter Tai is now 5 months old and from the moment that she was born, we have been inseparable. I go everywhere with her and she traveled via stroller but as anyone who is living in Thailand knows, it’s not very stroller friendly. So I started trying out all kinds of different carriers and eventually it led me to One Love’s mei tai. I remember trying it for the first time and thinking how I couldn’t wait to get one and start wearing my daughter in it. It was soft, supportive, pretty, easy to use and most importantly, Tai was so comfortable being in it. We have been out and about all over Bangkok with the mei tai and it’s amazing, when she’s in it she is able to be close to me (with nothing between us) while also being able to see all around her. She also falls asleep real easily in the mei tai and the hood is so handy since it provides privacy for her, along with shielding her from the sun when we’re walking outside. I would definitely and have recommended the mei tai to my friends since it has provided me with so much more than being just a carrier. It has provided me the freedom to continue with my daily activities while also at the same time, being one with my daughter.
I love this carrier! I get a ton of compliments on it but most importantly – it’s very comfortable (especially being that I use it often). I have 3 children. After realizing how difficult it was to get around Bangkok, Thailand with a stroller – my only option (other than leaving my son at home) was to carry him around. After he was a few months old, I strapped on my Baby Bjorn and carried him around everywhere. Once I was introduced to the One Love carrier and realized that my back and shoulders stopped hurting, I knew this was the carrier for me! Being a mother of 3, I have my fair share of baby gadgets and gizmos (supposedly to make life a little easier when raising kids) and this one is definitely a “keeper”. My husband enjoys using it as well … it helps being that we’re officially outnumbered with 3 kids ages 4 and under!

I’ve been using the mei tai since Teo was born. We had 3 rough first months with him as he cried all the time, but somehow the Mei Tai was the only thing that could calm him and make him go to sleep. So I got used to going around Bangkok with him in it all the time! I’ve tried so many different carriers and I must say that the only thing that worked for him and me was the mei tai. Teo is now one year old and I’m still wearing him everyday. He loves it as he can be close to me and move around town seeing everything…or falling asleep when he wants to!
Coming from Switzerland and loving the countryside and outdoor activities, I found it hard to come to Bangkok knowing the pavements were a disaster for strollers, that the BTS was stroller-unfriendly and so on. But with the One Love mei tai baby carrier, Teo and I get our daily walk every morning or evening and we get around Bangkok so fast and easy. Really, I wear the mei tai so often that it has become a joy to see Teo clap his hands when I’m putting it on! I even wear him at home when cleaning or cooking. Also, as the baby gets bigger and heavier, I have had no problems with my back, as the Mei Tai is well balanced front and back. And really easy to put on once you’ve done it 2 or 3 times! And it can be washed and stored so easily. As soon as Teo starts to walk I’ll be wearing him in the back! The mei tai is a fabulous thing which bonds you and your child even closer. I’ll be wearing it for a long time, in Thailand, in Switzerland, anywhere!
Whenever our newborn had trouble getting to sleep or became fussy in the evenings, carrying him in a One Love mei tai baby carrier seemed the only thing that could console him. After just a few minutes of walking he would be sound asleep. I very much enjoyed the honor of getting him to sleep because his mom wasn’t sure she was confident to use the carrier. She soon learned how easy it was to safely use the mei tai and now we both enjoy the closeness and comfort of wearing our baby, ever since he was 2 weeks old!
I decided to buy a mei tai carrier after I saw a friend wearing one — it looked so comfy! I tried one on with my then 3 month old son, and sure enough, it felt a lot more comfortable than more ‘structured’ carriers I’d tried previously. My One Love mei tai was my most useful piece of baby gear, as my son would sleep in it for his naps whilst on the move, and I still had my hands free to do all my errands! I now own a second One Love mei tai, one for each of my children — my 2 year old son and my 6 month old daughter — and my husband and I carry them both. We’ve even travelled long-haul with both of our children using them, with happy, peaceful sleeps, and comforting cuddles on the way! We highly recommend One Love mei tai carriers!
